PRIVACY POLICY

Last updated November 6, 2024

Summary

At CrowdWizard, your privacy is important to us, and we are committed to being transparent about how we handle your information. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your choices regarding it. Rest assured, we do not sell or share your personal information with third parties.

Information We Collect and How We Use It:
  1. Notifications (Optional)

    • If you enable notifications, we will store a device notification identifier and your notification preferences securely on our cloud server. This allows us to send you relevant alerts and updates based on your preferences.

  2. Location Data (Optional)

    • If you enable location services, we will use your device's location only while using the app to show nearby rides in notifications and in the "Best Bets" feature. Your location is never sent to our cloud servers or stored after your session ends. All location-based services are handled locally on your device.

  3. Data associated with in-app purchase (Optional)

    • If you choose to make a purchase within the app, we will associate this purchase with your account to ensure you receive the features you paid for.

    • The transaction is securely processed by Apple for iOS devices or Google for Android devices. We do not have access to your payment information, such as credit card details. We only receive confirmation that a purchase was completed, allowing us to activate the features you paid for in your account.

    • We also offer the option to provide an email address to assist with future recovery of purchases if needed. If you provide an email, it will be stored securely and associated with your purchase for account recovery purposes only.

  4. Information Automatically Collected

    • When you use our app, it connects to a cloud server to get the information you need. The server will record basic details about your use, such as the date you used the app and which park information you requested, helping us improve performance, maintain security, and analyze app usage patterns. This data doesn’t identify you personally or include any personal information (name, phone number, email, etc).  It includes things like:

      • Device type (e.g., phone or tablet)

      • Browser and operating system details

      • Unique identifier for your account

    • This information helps us keep the app running smoothly and enhance your overall experience.

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise share your personal information with third parties.  You can control what information you share with us. If at any time you wish to revoke permissions (e.g., for notifications or location services), you can do so through the CrowdWizard Settings menu or your device settings.

We may occasionally update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or for operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We encourage you to review it periodically for the latest information.

If you have any questions or concerns about this policy, feel free to reach out to us at info@crowdwizardapp.com.

By using the app, you agree to this policy and the collection and use of information as outlined.

If you are located in the EU or UK, this section applies to you.

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and UK GDPR require us to explain the valid legal bases we rely on in order to process your personal information. As such, we may rely on the following legal bases to process your personal information:

  • Consent. We may process your information if you have given us permission (i.e., consent) to use your personal information for a specific purpose. You can withdraw your consent at any time by emailing us at info@crowdwizardapp.com.

  • Legitimate Interests. We may process your information when we believe it is reasonably necessary to achieve our legitimate business interests and those interests do not outweigh your interests and fundamental rights and freedoms. For example, we may process your personal information for some of the purposes described in order to:

  • Analyze how our Services are used so we can improve them to engage and retain users

  • Legal Obligations. We may process your information where we believe it is necessary for compliance with our legal obligations, such as to cooperate with a law enforcement body or regulatory agency, exercise or defend our legal rights, or disclose your information as evidence in litigation in which we are involved.

  • Vital Interests. We may process your information where we believe it is necessary to protect your vital interests or the vital interests of a third party, such as situations involving potential threats to the safety of any person.

If you are located in Canada, this section applies to you.

We may process your information if you have given us specific permission (i.e., express consent) to use your personal information for a specific purpose, or in situations where your permission can be inferred (i.e., implied consent). You can withdraw your consent at any time.

In some exceptional cases, we may be legally permitted under applicable law to process your information without your consent, including, for example:

  • If collection is clearly in the interests of an individual and consent cannot be obtained in a timely way

  • For investigations and fraud detection and prevention

  • For business transactions provided certain conditions are met

  • If it is contained in a witness statement and the collection is necessary to assess, process, or settle an insurance claim

  • For identifying injured, ill, or deceased persons and communicating with next of kin

  • If we have reasonable grounds to believe an individual has been, is, or may be victim of financial abuse

  • If it is reasonable to expect collection and use with consent would compromise the availability or the accuracy of the information and the collection is reasonable for purposes related to investigating a breach of an agreement or a contravention of the laws of Canada or a province

  • If disclosure is required to comply with a subpoena, warrant, court order, or rules of the court relating to the production of records

  • If it was produced by an individual in the course of their employment, business, or profession and the collection is consistent with the purposes for which the information was produced

  • If the collection is solely for journalistic, artistic, or literary purposes

  • If the information is publicly available and is specified by the regulations
